Your headlights play an important role when it comes to ensuring that you can see while driving at night. Keep them protected with headlight protection film. Most composite headlights are made of either polycarbonate or acrylic materials. Unfortunately, composite headlights are much less durable than glass headlights and the effects are seen on many cars that are driven all over the Boise area.

Overtime polycarbonate or acrylic headlights become cloudy and discolored due to oxidation, pitting caused by sand and other debris coming in contact with the surface of the light, and UV rays.  Amongst the more common issues experienced is known as sandblasting which is the effects caused by rocks, sand and other road debris that cause cracking and pitting. In some vehicles, the pitting and cracking is so extreme that moisture builds up on the inside of headlight. Over time headlight performance is reduced. Sanding and polishing the headlights is only a temporary fix.
